Social Security Administration Building
SMPC was the architect of record, with Kaplan McLaughlin Diaz of San Francisco, CA as the design architect, for this five-story building. It is situated in downtown Albuquerque and provides landscape and pedestrian setbacks on all sides of the building. Some features of the first floor include a double height lobby, training and fitness center, full service cafeteria with dining room, and outdoor patio with an alley right of way which has been developed as a landscaped walking/exercise area. The building amenities include a break room on every floor and a roof terrace off the fifth floor conference rooms. The underground parking accomodates 150 vehicles and a loading dock with convenient access to a service area and freight elevator. The recipient of an Award of Merit from the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties in 2001
