This was the first building of the East Mesa Center masterplan developed by SMPC Architects, Willams Design Group, and Consensus Planning. It is a 48,000 s.f. $5.48 million building on two stories which takes advantage of the sloping site and permits grade-level access to each floor. The new facility includes student classrooms, offices, computer labs, laboratory workspace and a courtyard/plaza area central to the two building wings. There is a reference library located on the second floor. Exterior materials and finishes, comprised of scored concrete masonry, stucco, native stone and metal roofing on pitched roofs, were selected from a palette common to southwest architecture and designed to create a harmonious relationship to the site.
