CNM: Salazar Hall, Main Campus
This five story, 89,000 s.f. building contains four floors of classrooms with the top floor reserved for faculty offices. In response to client requests, the building maintains a strong pedestrian link to the existing one-story Preparatory Classroom Building immediately to the east. The steeply sloping site enabled us to provide at grade handicap access to three of the five levels which greatly minimizes elevator usage and enhances vertical circulation convenience.
The efficient plan consists of three wings that radiate from a central mechanical/circulation core. This triadic plan provides all classrooms with window and maximizes views from top floor offices.
The building features twin stacked two-story atriums that enhance the West entrance which is accessed through a sunken landscaped courtyard.
