This 245,000-s.f. expansion and the beginning of various renovation/improvements to the Convention Center West were the work of SMPC with Holmes Sabatini as Design Consultants. The expansion included a 106,000 s.f. exhibit hall, with an adjacent covered loading dock. Eleven large meeting rooms can be easily divisible by operable walls to multiple arrangements of 2 to 11 rooms, seating groups of 50 to 500. Six smaller meeting rooms have second level overview of the exhibit floor, and are made available to special vendors or VIPS. Banquet kitchens are set up to serve both levels and the remodeled kitchen was designed to accommodate 7,000 meals.
