Eastern New Mexico University Greyhound Stadium

Portales, New Mexico

The new Greyhound Stadium at ENMU is a NCAA Division II Football, Track & Field, and Soccer Facility, home to ENMU Greyhound Athletics.

The collaborative team of SMPC Architects and  McClain + Yu  designed the facility to include a press box building, locker facilities, and two concessions buildings. The stadium hosts not only ENMU Greyhound athletic teams but also the area high school Portales Rams. This sharing of facilities is a unique opportunity to reinforce the athletic community in Portales and Roosevelt County.

The stadium is an iconic statement in steel and concrete for ENMU and carries a unique architectural expression while fitting into the campus architecture. The facility opened on September 10, 2016 in time for the season opener. LEED Silver Certification was awarded in May 2017.

“It sits right on campus. Our old stadium sat about eight miles outside of town. It’s one of the nicest Division 2 facilities in the nation”.
