ET Salazar Elementary School

Española , NM

The modernization of an outdated rural school for 420 students includes a new classroom wing with kindergarten, media center, kitchen and administrative functions, as well as the renovation of the existing multi-purpose gymnasium and classroom building. The concept for the campus design is rooted in the surrounding neighborhood with a linear group of structures of varying sizes, shapes and colors. The building reflects the rich culture and family oriented character of the community it serves, fostering an intimate and secure academic environment while providing accommodations for community events.
