Construction time-lapse of One Central

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 marking the grand opening of Albuquerque’s newest mixed use development, One Central. The project features 68 apartments, 44,000 square feet of commercial space, over 20,000 square feet of patio space, and a city-owned parking structure. It is anticipated the development will house a combination of entertainment venues, restaurants, office, retail and living spaces supporting contemporary urban lifestyles.

SMPC is the Architect of Record for the project, which was a collaborative effort which included the City of Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, Developer Mosher Enterprises, Studio Southwest Architects and Klinger Construction, along with dozens of consultants, and subcontractors.

This project is a public-private partnership between the Metropolitan Redevelopment Agency (MRA) and One Central Associates, LLC, who together broke ground in January of 2017. MRA is part of the Albuquerque Planning Department, which works with developers to improve blighted properties and incentivize revitalization through these kinds of partnerships, which are vital to the development of catalytic projects throughout the city.
