Parking Day 2017

New Mex Hex | PARK(ing) Day!

What: New Mex Hex | PARK(ing) Day!

PARK(ing) Day is an annual worldwide event where artists, designers and citizens transform metered parking spots into temporary public parks.

This year, UNM landscape and architecture students are partnering with ACE Leadership High School to design New Mex Hex, a pop up park outside of 516 Arts. The design for New Mex Hex is inspired by the current Cross Pollination exhibit at 516 Arts, curated by Albuquerque Artist Valerie Roybal. New Mex Hex celebrates urban ecology through design.

New Mex Hex is sponsored by Raks Building Supply, Plant World, SMPC Architects, and NM ASLA

When: Friday, September 15th from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Where: Outside of 516 ARTS on Central between 5th and 6th
