“It is critical to contribute to the perpetuation of the architecture profession, encouraging the development of young talent to become future leaders.”

Karl Schindwolf, AIA

Principal Emeritus / Architect

Originally from Long Island, Karl is a huge Mets fan. Each spring he proclaims that this will be their year. He is also a huge fan of Lobo basketball. Karl has been interested in the profession of architecture since he was a high school freshman in New York. After graduating from UNM, Karl worked at many small and large architectural offices in Albuquerque before finding his place at SMPC. Karl leads the orchestration of the firm’s talent and resources. When he’s not speed walking around the office to verify project schedules and staff commitments, he is managing projects and supporting collaborative design efforts. Karl enjoys traveling the world with his family and exploring buildings in exotic places. He has become the office travel consultant knowing the most affordable way to get to the most obscure locations. He also has been on 124 different roller coasters across the country multiple times along with his son who shares the same passion.
